We now offer a full range of audiology services in the Leigh-on-Sea branch or we can provide domiciliary services (in your own home). We provide free hearing tests, health checks, hearing aid advice, dispensing of hearing aids, ongoing aftercare and service appointments. We also offer Tinnitus Support and Ear Wax Removal using the latest Micro Suction Techniques. All appointments can be booked with Dee, our qualified Audiologist.
Observatory the Opticians is a locally owned, independent opticians. Being independent means that we are not tied to any specific brands. We attend optical trade shows and choose the brands that we love the most, and that we hope you will also love. Our eye tests are relaxed, with lots of time to ask questions. We can offer you expert advice in a relaxed, safe environment. We stock a large variety of frames that range from affordable to designer.

Darren started Observatory the Opticians in Leigh on Sea in 1998, following six years in optics. Darren loves to be at the forefront of the business, whether clinically or fashion styling.
Sarah became part of the team in 2010 and was new to optics. Sarah runs a very efficient reception system, supporting the team and really enjoys helping with customers when they come into the practice.
Debbie has recently joined the team as an Optical Assistant, having previously been a customer of the Leigh-on-Sea branch for 15 years. She has a natural passion for frame styling and will help you look fabulous in your new specs.
Our hearing care professional, Dee, qualified as an Audiologist in 2007. Prior to this, Dee worked as a registered nurse. Dee’s past extensive medical knowledge and expertise in audiology and hearing aid technology give her a great understanding of patients’ needs. Dee practices Person-Centered Care.
There is limited short stay parking on Rectory Grove in Leigh-on-Sea. There are two car parks nearby. Elm Road car park, 69 Elm Road, SS9 1SL is a two minute walk away. North Street car park, 20 North Street, SS9 1QE is about seven minutes walk from us.
