Optical job vacancies

We have a low turnover of staff and generally, when we need more people, it’s because the business is growing. We are a happy team and it’s important for us to make sure we get the right people.

Muswell Hill, London N10

We are looking for a full-time or part-time Dispensing Optician or Optical Dispenser.

We are also looking for a full-time or part-time Receptionist or Optical Advisor. Full training provided.

Our recruitment process

If you are interested in our optical job vacancies, please contact Managing Director Jonathan on jonathan@observatory.co.uk.

He will have an informal chat with you initially to answer any questions you may have about the role. The next step is to arrange a convenient time for a telephone interview, followed by a face-to-face interview with one or two other members of the team. We will then arrange for you to come in for a trial day.

Working hours

These vary between practices but are generally 9am – 5pm (9:30am – 6pm in London). We close on Sundays.

Salary

This is dependent on the role and experience but we are generous for the right candidate.

Professional development

We encourage and support professional development. We run in-house training courses as well as funding CET. 

Professional fees

We pay GOC, ABDO and/or AOP fees.

Holidays

We offer 28 days of holiday including statutory holidays. Most practices also close between Christmas and New Year.
